OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS

As a vibrant community theatre, VLT uses the resources of the community for the good of the entire community with:

  • entertainment
  • education
  • outreach.

Because our shows, classes, and outreach programs are priced to allow the entire community to participate, paid admissions and tuition only account for 80% of the total cost of programming.

To continue and grow our services, we depend upon:
  • gifts from individuals
  • grants from foundations, and state and county government
  • support and investment from businesses and corporations.

You can invest in your community in a variety of ways.

    UNRESTRICTED GIFTS
Of the gifts that VLT receives, unrestricted gifts, or those to used "for whatever VLT needs most," are the most helpful. This allows the Board and staff to adjust funds for projects based upon their need and appeal, rather than upon funds restricted for those projects. For instance, the Nokomis Park Project, an important program but one of low visibility, has used unrestricted donations to meet its costs for the past three years.

All gifts are appreciated and will be used to maximum benefit. Donors of $1,000 or more are invited to the annual President's Dinner, for an excellent meal and an exclusive report on the state of the theatre and VLT's plans.

    Donor categories include:
  • Benefactor $10,000 plus
  • Platinum $7,500 to $9,999
  • Gold $5,000 to $7,499
  • Silver $2,500 to $4,999
  • Protector $1,000 to $2,499
  • Advocate $750 to $999
  • Patron $500 to $749
  • Sponsor $250 to $499
  • Donor $100 to $249
  • Contributor $50 to $99
  • Friend Under $50

  • THE PHOENIX SOCIETY/DEFERRED GIFTS
Whether through a cash gift, a gift of real estate, an annuity, a charitable remainder trust, or other means of planned giving, deferred gifts allow you to establish a legacy at VLT. You may designate your gift to the VLT Endowment Fund, where it is held in trust at the Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice. As the fund grows, income from the Endowment is used to fund VLT projects in perpetuity. Ask your investment counselor about a deferred gift, or contact Duwain Hunt at 941-484-4033. Duwain can put you in touch with an investment counselor at the Foundation to discuss how you can have the greatest impact on the future of VLT. You can even endow certain programs to insure their continued health and growth. For example:
  • A gift of $50,000 will endow a Technical Theatre Apprenticeship Scholarship.
  • A gift of $10,000 will endow a scholarship for one student for our sequential
         education program.
  • A gift of $5,000 will endow a scholarship for one student for one of our annual
         summer theatre camps.
  • A gift of $250,000 will endow the entire Loveland Partnership program forever.

    SCHOLARSHIPS
VLT tries to assure that no student is turned away from arts education programs due to financial hardship. We solicit contributions to the scholarship fund on an ongoing basis. Anyone giving a gift to VLT may restrict that gift for the scholarship fund:
  • A full tuition scholarship for one semester/one class per student costs $120-$200.
  • A full tuition scholarship for summer camp is $160-$270 per student.
  • A full tuition scholarship for one student for the Technical Theatre Apprenticeship Program is $2,600 per year.

  • If you wish to make a gift or wish further information, please contact Duwain Hunt at 941-484-4033 or e-mail him at duwainhunt@venicestage.com.

    CORPORATE/BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

As a vibrant community theatre, VLT uses the resources of the community for the good of the entire community with:
  • entertainment
  • education
  • outreach.

  • Because our shows, classes, and outreach programs are priced to allow the entire community to participate, paid admissions and tuition only account for 80% of the total cost of programming.
To continue and grow our services, we depend upon:
  • gifts from individuals
  • grants from foundations, and state and county government
  • support and investment from businesses and corporations.

  • You can invest in your community in a variety of ways.

    SPONSORSHIPS
Your business/corporation is identified with the show or program of your choice (depending upon availability). You'll get maximum business exposure for your investment. We'll include your business as "Sponsored by..." in
  • all VLT advertising
  • all press releases and promotion
  • posters, flyers, and
  • our electronic marquee

  • Additionally,
  • you'll receive a block of tickets (for show sponsors) to a performance of your sponsored show,
  • you'll have our Presidents' Room at your disposal for a client/employee reception
  • and we'll say "thanks" at every performance.
  • Other benefits are available and negotiable.
Sponsorships range from only $1,500 to $15,000, depending upon your choice of show/program. Contact Duwain Hunt at 941-484-4033, or e-mail him at duwainhunt@venicestage.com.

    CORPORATE GIFTS
All gifts are appreciated, whether it's for "whatever VLT needs most" or restricted for an existing program. You can be a VLT co-producer, with year-round lobby recognition, year-round playbill listings, and invitations to co-producer-only events. Corporate co-producers levels include:
  • Silver: $2,500-$4,999
  • Gold: $5,000-$7,499
  • Platinum: $7,500-$9,999
  • Benefactor: $10,000 and above.

  • Contact Duwain Hunt at 941-484-4033 for more information.

    GIFTS-IN-KIND
Perhaps your business features a service or product that will help as much as cash. It could be carpet cleaning, computer maintenance, dry cleaning, printing, lumber, fabric, or multitude of other products and services. A penny saved is a penny earned, and it's just as appreciated by Venice Little Theatre. Contact Duwain Hunt at 941-484-4033 to see if your service or product is helpful.

    SPECIAL EVENTS/COMPANY PROMOTIONS
Help us help you! Have a company outing planned? Bring a group to a VLT show. It's a fun social outing, and groups get a special admission rate. Contact Sara Trembly at 941-488-1115.

Help us get the word out! VLT needs places to display information about upcoming shows. Our posters and rack cards-professionally designed and printed-look attractive in office and retail settings, take up little space, and are regularly replaced by us. So if your counter has a few inches of space available for a rack card, or you have a small window space by the front door, give Sara Trembly a call at 941-488-1115 or e-mail her at saratrembly@venicestage.com.
