"Bringing History to Life" is VLT's partnership with Venice Middle School with the support of the College of Education and Human Development at Argosy University/Sarasota.
Its purpose is to bring social studies "off the written page" and mount its lessons dramatically.
This form of presentation will engage the students' senses in a way not traditionally done in order to increase the learning curve. Seventh and eighth grade social studies classes are engaged
in the process and techniques of mounting a dramatic production.
This program integrates the theatre arts with social studies.
The students will have a unique opportunity to bring history to life.
The future of this program is to work with English classes as well.

The VLT/ Loveland partnership now in its eleventh year is a true example of what community organizations can accomplish through partnering. Developmentally challenged adults from Loveland come to the theatre once a week throughout the year. The result of their work culminates in a Mainstage performance every year in June. This is a performance not to be missed!
